Hype Vs Skill

Flashback 2001: I'm sitting in my cramped room writing to some random instrumentals cd-r that barely plays on my dads old cd player/tapedeck when my phone starts ringing and the convo goes like this:

'Yo I got the bootleg to the Stillmatic cd, you want it?'
'Nah I'm waiting to go to the mall saturday and buy it'
'Nigga fuck that, I got that shit now, its cold as hell'
'Its that dope?'
'Hell yea, Nas is back, you need to hear One Mic and Rewind, that shit is crazy'

As much as I wanted to wait, I knew Nas wasnt going to disappoint me, if anything it was going to inspire me. I was on kazaa in minutes searching for the mp3s. And finally once i heard it, it was better than I pictured it. Fast Forward 2008, its slowly starting to feel like the hype doesn't stem from your skills anymore, its almost like they became two different things. Instead of skills, people started talking about the chains rappers wore, cars they drove, women they smashed, a dance they made up, did they go to jail, did they deal drugs, are they from the projects, did they shoot somebody or even worse how many times they been shot. And then it hit...no one gives a fuck if you can rap anymore. After hearing verse after verse on all of those DJ Kahled's 15+ south niggas on one beat all which are mostly skippable, i'm convinced no one is listening for anyone to kill a verse anymore. The phrase keep it real became the foundation to people being more concerned with living what they're writing more than they're ability to write. Seems like when people tell me about newer (mostly mainstream) rappers or even ones that out now, i'm generally disappointed verse wise but to their credit they can make a song built for todays standards and they're market. No lie Soulja Boy has more hype than anything else and as garbage as he is he's banking on being... wack.

Downside of having skills in today's era is that it will take years for you to get the respect you deserve and only if you weather the storm and maintain your originality. But depending on if you even get the chance cause as we know industry people are shady. Hell, the Saigon's Greatest Story Never Told seems like the perfect name cause i'm not sure if i'll ever get a chance to hear it. There are alot of artist who end up as writers or just fading out our mind cause they didn't have the hype/momentum to match their talent. But lets be clear as well, you can not just be super lyrical and expect the industry to play you off the strength of that alone. This is a business where they need something appealing to a wide variety of people.

There are some artist I believe have both like Cory Gunz, Lupe, Wale who can back up their hype with an enormous amount of talent and if they continue to put out good music then there's potential to raise the standard and look at rappers for good songs with good lyrical content as well. And when someone taps into that shit is bound to change.

50 vs Kanye...again

Theres been alot going lately in the news and music, hurricanes everywhere, more of Sarah Palin's lies are being uncovered, the weird set up of the VMA's, TI continuing to embarrass Shawty Lo but one person I haven't heard alot from is the number man himself 50 cent.  50 hasn't been out as much at all possibly because he's doing alot of movies but I seen a video that shows 50 doing what he does best...starting shit.

No lie, its funny. I think everybody wasnt expecting Ye to do a song like that. In fact I was hoping for him to start rapping or for something crazy to switch up the song but it never happened. I'm guessing the song will grow on me eventually after I hear it enough times (maybe). 50 is good at seizing times when the spotlight is on other people and using what they have to his advantage somehow. After the G-unit cd, he needs to do something to get himself the press he once had and with all the rappers pretty much either afraid of beefing with him or smart enough to ignore him he's running out of options. I'm assuming he's going to go at Kanye again because he's the biggest rapper out, who is getting press for every little thing he does, every outburst and speech. In the end 50 needs to make sure he leaves out on a great note musically, this next album has to his greatest work because he hasnt been able to recreate anything close to Get Rich Or Die Tryin. All the beefs are entertaining but at this point I'd much rather see a 50 album thats pushed because of how dope the product is instead of who he's going back and forth with at the time

I wish I could get this feeling again

My guy Slot-A sent me a new beat and the vibe the beat had took me back and the song will prolly end up being a nod to all these cats who helped pave the way for my sound. The stuff I grew up on, when boots was essential with every outfit, your hair had to be a broader statement of you and when I  actually ran home to see videos and would watch The Box channel (or the juke box for some of yall) and wait to see if it comes on again. I know everybody been dick riding this whole 80's baby shit but honestly the 90's had a bigger impact on me personally since i was still young during the 80's. Anyways no more words just peep the classic freshness kid!

 Souls Of Mischief

Pete Rock and CL Smooth

Pharcyde (Tre's verse in Running will still be one of my favs)

TCQ

Nas

Biggie

Common

"Dear Add-2, I hope you never blow up"

I know I usually try to avoid talking about myself in these blogs but today this was on my mind lol. Friday was the official online release of the new mixtape Tale Of Two's City Vol.2 and the response has been very good, almost to the point where its surprising me. I got alot of support from various sites and alot of people who jumped on board just off the strength that they like the music and the messages in certain songs. The mixtape has been an overall success. Amongst all the good messages/interviews/texts/phone calls I've received one stood out the most...from a fan who said something that made me think twice about where my career goes after this tape. The convo started like this:

"Yoooo what up Add-2, that mixtape is crazy. I been playing it from track 1 to 21 and its so good to hear somebody actually talking about something. Your flow is on point, the stories all dat shit. I havent got that feeling about an emcee like that in a loooooong while, Lupe was the last one I got excited for like that. Not too many artist are putting effort into it anymore. I know this is going to sound crazy so don't take it the wrong way but I hope you never blow up...."

(pause) So the first thing I'm thinking is 'You ungrateful hating ass bastard, why wouldnt you want me to be successful' but he then explained it perfectly.

"I say that because as soon as artist who have alot of talent get into the spotlight they either change or that hunger dies out. Don't let that shit happen cause you great where you are right now. Thanx for the good music."

I think we've all seen that happen before to some of our favorite artist. When the money comes in, the thing we loved them most for somehow leaves. I remember how 50 cent was one of my favorites, from How To Rob to Power Of The Dollar and of course Get Rich Or Die Tryin' and then when the success came it was a different 50. He was still entertaining in the interviews and him talking shit but rhyme wise I didn't hear the same 50. I still think Lupe was more of a monster back then on the mixtapes and most of my favorite albums from my favorite artists have always been the earlier ones i.e Reasonable Doubt, Illmatic, Doggystyle, One Day It'll all make sense. I know its inevitable that most (not all) artist lose their hunger after they achieve their goals but I'll do my best to maintain the style and what I have now but grow at the same time.... or i can fail miserably and fall off hard and you can blog about how much of a disappointment i am lol

R.I.P Bernie Mac

I woke up this morning and read the news that the Mac man has unfortunately passed at the age of 50. No lie Bernie Mac was probably my favorite comedians and he was like a hometown hero so to hear that he's gone doesn't seem like its real to me. I'm waiting on someone to say it was just a rumor but I know that its not. Bernie was one of the greatest comedians of all time, his style and voice were unique and his in your face realness was a gift that most comedians wish they had. So I'll just keep it short and pay my homage to one of the greatest and let anybody else do their thing if need be. Thanx Bernie for all the laughs thoroughout the years, whether it was on the stage or in the movies. RIP Bernie Mac

Time is precious, live everyday to the fullest

Either You Die A Hero or Live Long Enough To See Yourself Become the Villain

1st thing 1st, thanx for the support on the song Black Amerikkka and also the mixtape is done and will be available free real soon (21 tracks of fresh concepts/storytelling/spitting). Now to the subject at hand, I was in a typical 'who's the nicest emcee' debate and the cliche phrase came up and you all know which one cause chances are EVERYBODY used it: "If (insert dead rapper or certain era in hip hop) none of this bullshit would be going on". At first I gave my cliche 'Hell yea, you aint never lied' but then I wondered if this was true would that really be the case.

All the rappers we hold as legends who passed were arguably in or near their prime (i.e Biggie, Pac, Big L, Pun, Dilla) and even though we would give up 98% of the music of  today just to hear another album from any of those artist (aside from Pac cause he still dropping more shit dead than some do alive) they left in a way that solidified their positions. You may argue how close to the top they are but are always close to the top. But as the game keeps changing and time goes on, others havent been so lucky to maintain their status. As Dave Chappelle put it, you can get famous but you cant get unfamous you can get infamous but not unfamous.

No lie, DMX used to be one of my heroes, when he first came out barking, growling, threatening to rob, kill and even fuck dead bodies that shit blew me away. As time went on we seen that Dark Man turned out to be just as crazy as he was on the records and was constantly in trouble with the law, impersonating them and trouble fighting his addictions. Camron went from being a rapper with so much potential to being known for silly rhymes and last seen by a pool in his boxers. I watched Prodigy go from being one of the realest who was dropping classics with Mobb Deep to dropping blog videos talking shit about any and everybody. Krs is still doing his thing but he doesnt have the impact he once had. Premo is still one of the illest but he can't get one placement on any of the bigger more successful rappers careers he helped build, how fucked up is that. As much as Nas says their doing an album together im not getting my hopes up. Jay-z drops an album and people are calling him an old head. Every single originally Bad Boy artist is gone and it all had something to do with money and if you are an artist on Bad Boy today its almost like a One album and get shelved type deal and the same goes for Terror Squad. Deathrow is gone. MC Lyte is doing voice over work for BET's show Da Boot. Young MC, Brat, Bizarre were last seen on Celebrity Fit Club and I thought I seen Kid from Kid N Play doing stand up commercials for Sonic's. Not to mention all the other artist who have been swept under a rug as time went on. If Pac, Biggie, Pun or Big L was around they would probably have been subjected to some of the same stuff too, which I'm glad will never happen but as you see it happens to everybody.

I remember seeing Kwame (yea dude with the polka dots) saying rap is like high school, you only got about 4 years to stay in the lime light and after that people start asking why are you still here. Its sad but its kinda true. We dont respect our living legends as much as white folks do The Rolling Stones, Aerosmith, U2 or Madonna who tour, make music and still make millions. Seems like Hip Hop artist either fade out or are seen like that guy who graduated who comes back and is hanging outside your class in the hallway. Hopefully this can change and that the legends who are still alive like Tribe, Rakim, Wu Tang, Run Dmc and all the greats from any generation.

Things I think ALL women should know

What up yall, 1st off thank yall for checking out THEEE WORST SONG OF ALL TIME and confirming my beliefs. My cousin who had originally found that song a few years ago told me the guys actually dropped out of high school to pursue music (can't make that up lol). My cousin also sent me the whole cd so maybe one of these days i'll upload it for yall if I ever get a chance

Anyways, when I'm on myspace it seems like the routine has been to thank those who are fans and love the music, talk about music, talk about some of the stuff i say in blogs, ignore the random ass rappers who claim they're getting a million plays and how i should check out the page and of course deal with the random whores who offer their services all based on how ur page and music looks. But on occasion i get to do something I like which is give advice to females. So i decided to help all my females out to help them make their lives easier and if you know women like this forward it to em lol

Don't dress/dance like/present yourself as a whore without expecting to get a whores treatment - this rule is so underrated cause it can save alot of damn misconceptions. When I see skin tight pants or shorts with yo ass creeping out and you your twins out, i'm not thinking about how lady like you are. If i see you in the club dancing on two dudes at a time and giving out lapdances, I'm not thinking about how lady like you are, if I see you popping on all fours in the parking lot, I AM NOT THINKING ABOUT HOW LADY LIKE YOU ARE. To make it clear you are not the type to take home and meet mom dukes, you are the type to take to the backseat, homeboys open crib and possibly some 2nd rate restuarants drive thru. Moral of the story: You get the job you dress for

Dont Interrupt The Game - Women know how much guys love sports, we dont have too much else to be interested in on tv outside of the NBA, NFL, MLB and Sportscenter and i think you can include video games in this too. So when the game or the fight is on, do yourself a favor and save whatever you want to talk about til afterwards. Now is not the time for a 'We need to talk' conversation, if anything its going to lead to more frustration on both ends cause you wont get the attention/answers you want and the guys just want to get the shit over with. Moral of story is: ... Shut the hell up

Money does not grow on trees - Alot of the financial stuff ends up falling on the man, never been fair but men never complain. Guys have to buy all the gifts, pay for all the dates, pay for the bill at the food spots and plan special things for holidays like Valentines Day when women just wrap the same gift in a different type of color lingerie (not shitting on Vicky's at all lol). Point blank it gets expensive especially when I got stuff I want to spend my money on as well. Just be understanding and if you can pay your half more often. Moral of the story is: Get yo hands out my pocket!!!

No mind reading - Women like to drop hints, its a fact of life. Instead of telling you what to do they'll try to leave a mesage in hopes you do it yourself. Coniving isnt it? But I have seen many relationships fail or die before they even begin because women wont say whats on their mind. Flat out, just say it, it makes it easier for the both of us. If you like someone, say it, dont drop hints and when the guy turns and screws someone else get mad at him when you never said you wanted a 'exclusive' relationship. Moral of story: Unless you mute, say something

Take charge during sex!!!! - Every guy wants a girl with a porno stars mentality, down for whatever, whenever, how ever and  where ever. Ladies, you gotta be aggressive. Its kinda like the U.S and immigrants, Hoes are taking women's jobs cause they doing all the dirty work women refuse to do. You cant be too good too good for the car, the alley, the bathroom, at your friends house for thanksgiving, your job, ANYWHERE. Moral of the story: All high siddity/dainty women should be extinct by 2009

Side Note: Guys not all women are porno stars, we cant be too aggressive either lol

Thats all the jewels i got for right now, should be dropping some new shit this week. Mixtape is officially done will be availble for free!!! So hit me up on the myspace

Worst Song Of All Time

I know its been a minute since the last post but I been doing recording alot of new music lately so I havent had the time BUT I got a lil time and there is something I HAD to share with yall. Even though I hate wack shit, I think one of my hobbies is listening to extremely bad shit or just plain infamous ass shit. Shit like Shawty Lo's line 'How you laughing? like HA HA HA' or anything off the hilariously classic and quotable 'Controversy' album by the legend Willie D (Bald Head Hoes is beyond a classic). But the song I found isnt by any of the usual suspects or anyone you know and if you do know these dudes you should of stopped them a LONG time ago. They are called Young Spuset and these niggas are the Bentley's in wack music. Off beat rhymes, terrible harmonies and bad execution. Everything that could of went wrong, did go wrong.

Now I love how music can make you want to make music but sometimes music aint for all of us. Then again if you stay at it you can get better, cause I would have never guess Wayne would be where he was if you asked me back when the Block is Hot came out. So here is the WACKEST MOST FUCKED UP SONG ADD-2 HAS HEARD PERIOD.... Young Spuset's 'Lets Stay Together'. If you can make it thru the whole song I tips my hat to you

http://www.zshare.net/audio/149223231c6d770b/

I DARE YOU TO FIND SOMETHING WORST THAN THIS!!!!

and as a bonus here's Bald Head Hoes lol

Nas is hip hop's hero

Nas to me has always been one of them people where its either you like him or you dont and he could give a fuck less either way. He's always had his own style and as I'm listening to 'Hero' for like the 12th time in a row its amazing to hear him continually grow in positive way. So many artist of his caliber get to that level of their career and stop trying to make anything progressive. They'll make albums that may pacify the average listener or just put stuff out to stay relevent. But Nas is one of the only artist who still have enough heart to push the envelope and raise the bar while commenting on subjects other emcee's are scared to touch. Thats what i respect the most. Thats what an emcee has always been in my opinion.

Honestly when I look back who else (aside from maybe 2pac) who would make records like 'Gave You Power', 'Black Girl Lost', 'One Love' and 'Rewind'. Nas is one of the few who try new shit as far as concepts and creativity, who else could spit on a track in the voice of a detective or a women and pull it off without being considered a complete clown? No one.

No lie, I was wondering where he was going when he originally titled it Nigger mainly because I seen an interview where they asked him about if Hip Hop was still dead and he responded saying something along the lines that the whole hip hop is dead thing was last year and he's on something new now. At first I thought, is this just a ploy just to get more media attention through controversy? But as the more songs get revealed and the more posters are released I'm seeing exactly where he's going. Hopefully the album will be like a mirror to not only hip hop/black culture but to American society. Racial tension aint left nowhere as much as some would like to act like it doesnt exist and America is perfect. When I heard the 3rd verse in Hero made me wish they didnt change the name of the album but it helps us see how they'll try to censor your creativity.

Whether you think he's a liar living through other peoples lives or if you are one of those who believe he is the greatest to touch the mic you gotta be able to respect an emcee who takes as many risks as he does. It would be so much easier for an artist to play it safe in times where sales arent what they were but the fact that he makes whatever type of music he wants without allowing himself to become concerned with if his album goes platinum or not is rare to see.

So even though I'll buy C3 to see what Wayne does, the real album i'm waiting on is Nigger (dont matter what they change it to)

Add-2's Dream Battles

When I heard that Shawty Lo was beefing with T.I my initial reaction was kinda apathetic and went kind like this: “are you fucking serious? …Shawty Lo? Homeboy that be whispering on the songs? Annnnd no one else? Just him? This aint even a fair fight…is that nigga even a rapper?”

Lets be realistic, T.I at his worse still could destroy Shawty L-O at his peak which i believe he has reached. I started thinking bout the other battles that have or could have happened within the last year or so and how they were kinda disappointing. 50 vs Fat Joe (Joey didn’t even put up a fight), Jay-z vs Jim Jones or even worse Jay vs Soulja Boy & The Wizards and lastly Wayne bitching out from Gillie, 50 and The Clipse. The only people who really bodied niggas was Joe Budden abusing Ransom for 8 mins on two tracks and Royce Da 5’9 demolishing Mistah Fab.

So in the light of the playoffs (its gonna be the Lakers vs Celtics in the end) I thought of my own battles I like to see that I feel would be a little more balanced in my mind. (note: this list aint finalized. Hit me up at www.myspace.com/add2 and we can debate it)

Beat Battle

Hi-Tek vs 9th Wonder - Two of the best yet not quite mainstream producers. Hi Tek has always been one of my favorite since Reflection Eternal and 9th since The Listening. Both have made some hip hop classics and produced for some mainstream artists.

Add-2's prediction: (still debating)

Timbaland vs Polow da don - To both their credit they’ve made me listen to people I normally wouldn’t listen to. They can flip both original and samples but their originals have been better than alot of cats sampled beats.

Add-2's prediction: Timbaland, not to say that Polow may not be where Tims at in a few years but when Timbaland wanna kill shit he can (even some of the pop stuff been kinda ill...not that madonna shit tho)

Premo vs Dilla - This one was suggested by one of my homies. Its not necessarily fair considering Dilla is gone but as everyone knows these are possibly the most loved/appreciated hip hop producers period (i'd throw Pete Rock in that category as well). If you need further explanation on either, please refer to their extensive classic discography asap (you will be glad you did).

Add-2's Prediction: If I had no other choice and HAD to pick one....damn....i guess I'd roll with Dilla.

Kanye vs Just Blaze - Not too long ago I seen Just Blaze go song for song with Swizz and I thought he kilt it completely with his Rocafella catalogue alone. I always had a hard time deciding who outshined who on Blueprint and then with their later work. Just got better high energy shit but kanye got that soulful shit that you can just listen to over and over.

Add-2's Prediction: (still debating)

(couldnt really think of anybody who could honestly match up with Pharrell's versatility)

Black Thought vs Mos Def - Brilliant conceptual thinkers with a dope consistent flow. Mos has been away making movies while Thought is still fighting the uphill battle of trying to achieve that level we all think The Roots could be on.

Predicition: Mos, even thought they have similar patterns I think Mos has more charisma than Thought.

Jeezy vs Rick Ross - The trapstar versus the boss. Can't say i'm a big fan of either but they have their moments. When Jeezy got at Gucci Mane it was pure comedy (the end of the song was hilarious) and when Ross was throwing shots at TI he was talking about all the stuff Shawty Lo talking bout now.

Joe Budden vs Fabolous - The logical choice against Joe Budden's 356,934,034,528 bars would be somebody like Game or maybe Crooked I who can match him bar for bar but I was thinking about who has been able to keep up with him as far as impact goes with punchlines. Each song they have been on together with others has been pretty much a competition between which out of the two kill the song more.

Prediction: Joey, I know some of the world still think of him as just for Pump It Up but over the years he has got into a few battles like with Game, 50 cent and Jay-z and lyrically i thought he sent some pretty good shots even tho no one really responded to him.

Busta Rhymes vs Ludacris - Obviously both are animated and can spit in different styles and arguably kill every remix they been on. Busta kilt Ja Rule on that last verse with Em and Fif and Luda shitted on TI at the end of that Young Buck joint.

Prediction: (still debating)

Nas & Az vs Jadakiss & Styles P - Other than MOP these are some of the few people who can split bars and share verses and it never gets old. I cant think of anybody else who can compliment each other better (i think another good combination is Jay, Facemob and Beans). From Styles and Kiss going back n forth on how they would hawk you with the knife to Az and Nas talking about being the flyest gangsta's each create the perfect tag team on a song.

Prediction: Styles and Jada, even though i'm a bigger Nas/AZ fan I think at this point Jada and Styles are better in tune with eachother.

Lupe vs ??? - I really would love to see him in a battle but I honestly cant think of anyone who could be considered on his level. Thats just being honest.

Again if you got some suggestions or someone who may better fit let me know on the myspace cause I wanted to put 3000, Jay, Cube, Rakim, KRS and some others in

The American Molding Machine

Today as I watched the full video of the Q&A session with Rev. Wright (he ethered the shit out of that troll lookin ass chick asking the questions) and then minutes later hearing that Obama had denounced what he was saying I came to the realization that America has and is a molding machine. In order to be apart of what is considered mainstream America, this dillusional-always thinking its right and never in the wrong-America, you have to be groomed and must maintain that look.

Maybe its possible Obama seperated himself in order to help win the next primary and get the nomination but the more and more he campaigns the more its like he has to fit in this mold. Its kinda like when your homeboy get a nice ass job. You know he cant come in as is, he has to talk a certain way, dress a certain way and he knows if he slips up in any sort of way his ass will be out before he can get a chance to defend himself.

He's been under more criticism than anyone else and under circumstances which pale in comparison to the other candidates. Whites were scared to vote for him because his name was muslim, then they were wondering if they should trust him cause his middle name is Hussein (how f*cking absurd is it to judge someone based off their middle name), then they were upset cause they thought he was linked to Louis Farrakahn, then they crucified him based off stuff his pastor said. Aside from his comment about being 'Biter' everything else was some bullshit they attached to him as opposed to what he's done.

No one made a huge deal about Hillary lying, she turned and said 'i lied...shit happens' and people brushed it off. No one brought up her scandal with Peter Paul contributions. No one gave two shits about Mccain banging some other chick or his temper tantrums.

Obama couldnt even say anything definite about the Sean Bell trial cause if he would have sided with it being an injustice he would have been saying something that would be viewed as 'too black'. Honestly even though I voted for Obama and I would hope that someone else wins cause Bush fucked shit up so much that the next candidate is gonna have too much to deal with and unless they have a unbelievably good term, it would be looked at as failure on their part and not on what Bush set them up with.

Hopefully Obama and any other African Americans attempting to conquer the corporate world see that in order to get there you have to be more less a chameleon. Mad respect to Rev. Wright for defending the Black Church and people like Michael Eric Dyson, Tavis Smiley, Cornel West and even Al Sharpton for speaking out on the issues that effect us everyday and being straight forward.

Thanx alot Flav...

As i was prepping this set list for this show for 2morrow in Milwaukee (if u in the area swing thru for a dope ass show), i had some time to watch tv. Lately its been between sports or watching Obama treat the shit out of Hillary and on occasion some videos if they ever play them. Today I managed to catch the worst show i seen since House of Payne and it was of course Under One Roof with Flava Fuckin Flav and if these are our standards for Black sitcoms then the bar aint really that high at all. At first I was just feeling stupid for wasting 20 minutes thinking this shit was gonna get better or at least entertaining, it was like watching an extremely bad impression of the early episodes of Fresh Prince. And from what i gather thats pretty much thats what they were shooting for:

Flav = Will - A dude from the hood, moving into a rich neighborhood with his family
Rich Brother = Uncle Phil - Rich black guy, doesnt want anything to do with anything ghetto (only difference is dude married a white women)
A geeky son = Carlton - I dont need to explain it
Dumb Ditzy Daughter = Hillary
Smart mouth Chinese Maid = Jeffrey the Butler - Apparently the cipher aint complete without a smart mouthed foreigner

Straight up, there will never ever be another Fresh Prince period, but to come straight out and copy is dumb. Then to make it worst, they had enough money to get Debo on it and this nigga was playing a gay nigga fresh out the pen trying have sex with Flav. I use to have some respect for dude regardless if he aint have any good roles since Friday but this was damn near up with Ving Rames and Holiday Heart, not really as bad but its almost up there. Flav gave us the GoldDigger Extravaganza that is Flavor Of Love and now this... All I wanna know is...what is Chuck D thinking?

New music on its way, I promise. www.myspace.com/add2

The Anti-Bullshit Coalition

Lately, I've come to terms with the fact I have 'Back in my days' syndrome, just how my father would tell me 'Boy that shit them niggas is making aint music, thats just noise...Earth Wind and Fire, Stevie, Marvin...thats real music' I have become as well. I almost had a heart attack when someone told me Shawty Lo album is killing the streets right now (a statement i will never take serious, ever in life). Every day i been arguing with my manager and other artists about whats wack and why its wack but apparently there's not a consensus. At first I thought maybe its just me, maybe i'm not giving them the proper chance and i'm expecting too much out of new artist...but then i thought again cause this shit is bullshit but niggas is making a million and one excuses for why they won't call it what it is.

 1. Just cause you live what you're rapping about doesn't mean you can rap. Point Blank Period. Birdman can pop bottles all day and night but should he be the one rapping...HELL NO. Take that bullshit somewhere else

2. Not everyone is a rapper or should be on a track...or on stage. Everybody rap, everybody got a mixtape, everybody got a myspace and they all think they hot. BULLSHIT. Some people need to invest in other talents they might have like bagging groceries or fixing engines in that driveway you call a shop. If you're the ceo of the label be the ceo of the label, the only one who needs to be seen is Diddy and thats cause Bad Boy is pretty much just Diddy anyway so if he out there them niggas dont exist. Dj Kahled has no reason to be on the track, from what i gather he doesnt produce the beats, he just gets the same people together for a song, we dont need his annoying ass screaming 'WE THE BESSST WHO? WEEEEE'. Another thing bringing every member of your crew on stage and all of em just stand there is a waste.

3. Freestyles - First off i would like to thank Crooked I for reviving freestyles because for a loooong time it had just been gradually getting worse. At one point back in the day when you heard a freestyle it was a good chance that the artist was about to kill it or flip it in a way you would wanna hear it over and over (i.e Eminem over the Mobb Deep joint). But now its just the same ol same ol bullshit about guns and drugs in the same flow. Someone sent this to me cause they knew it would piss me off, apparently Soulja Boy is also doing his own version of Hiphop weekly except he puts up a new freestyle when enough people play his shit (so im conflicted in spreading it, cause if you play it he'll make another and thus continuing the Bullshit). This shit is embarassing "In the club the hoes screaming Soulja Boy/ we dont give a fuck i'm riding in a toyota"...wtf?

4. Hating and being real - Everybody aint hating and even in hating there's some sense of truth in it. To me hating is when a nigga shit on you just cause. But if someone is rapping off beat and you say 'Yo fam...u rapping off beat' then that just means yo sloppy ass was all over the track.

5. Real Hip Hop - This is something i feel is necessary to say real hip hop music has to step it up if we want to erase some of the garbage thats going on. Lupe, Wale and Blu cant do it by  themselves. We can't be rapping like 'methphorical cataclismic rhythmic sonic bubonic plague rages inside of my body like Aids' and expect the masses to embrace it.

Great Moment in Anti-Bullshit History: "your life is played out like Kwame and them fuckin Polka Dots" Biggie

So i encourage all of yall to join the Anti-Bullshit Coalition, if its BULLSHIT start being unapologetic about it. If you're a stan, have enough sense to believe that the person you worshipping is not perfect. Talented emcee's time to step the game up. And if your a grown man playing Dance Dance Revolution....stop it immediately
