I'm surprised no one really pointed this out, but is it me or isT-Pain the new Lil' Jon? I remember when Lil' Jon was at his peak he was on every major hit and every damn remix. Sh!t, his last album included a bonus disc of all his popular remixes at one time. These cats rock the same hair style and the same white glasses. I dont know if one is swagger jackin' the other, but the similiarties are there. Lil' Jon is no where to be found and T-Pain is on every major song and every damn remix. Here are the pics to prove it (you already heard the music by now).

Playaz Circle KO'd Project Pat selling 26,300 in their debut (landing them at #27 on the charts) to Pat's dismal 17,500 (landing him at #47).
Who's the real winner out of all this you say?
Looks like Soulja Boy... he sold 34,100 this week beating both Playaz Circle and Project Pat. Since his album dropped 5 weeks ago his grand total stands at 269,000. I think Santa's dropping a gold plaque in Soulja Boy's stocking this Christmas.

After a #1 record "A Bay Bay" and rapidly growing second single, "Hand Clap" Louisiana native Hurricane Chris debuts at No. 24 this week with 51/50 Ratchet, which pushed 26,200 in its first go-around!!! These are horrible numbers for someone who dropped a #1 record!!! I actually like this kid, he can freestle his ass off - check out this clip battling Cipha Sounds (funny shit!)...

It aint Fiddy and Yeezy, but it is definitely some fresh new music to keep you sane throughout the day. I'm not predicting platinum numbers here but it will be interesting to see how many people will cop the Playaz Circle album off of a rapidly growing single on radio versus the Memphis vet Project Pat. Lemme know your thoughts if you plan on copping one or the other, or even both. Project Pat "Walking Bank Roll" and Playaz Circle "Supply & Demand" hits the shelves today!

It's true ... Lil Wayne is officially on Jay-Z's new "American Gangster" LP on a track titled "Hello Brooklyn 2.0." After all the talk, all the supposed "beef," all the back and fortch subliminal disses between various hip hop magazines. How do you feel about this collaboration? Check out the snippet in the mixtape section.

So I'm in the lab workin' on my Southern Smoke Radio show, when I get the call from a source of mine that new Weezy tracks have leaked from his B.A.G. project. Bad Ass Grasshopper is the name of his newrock/rap/r&b fused band, which play live instruments (like any rockband would) with Weezy on guitar in some of the records. Now I know these songs that leaked aren't mastered, but this has to be some of the weirdest music I've ever heard from Lil' Wayne. This T-Pain-ishecho he has on every B.A.G. song is horrible and off key.
I don't know what kinda drugs Weezy is on, but whatever he's on I'd like to try them. I don't really understand any of these B.A.G. songs and I think I gotta be on whatever he's smokin, snorting or sipping to understand any of these records. All 5 leaked records sound endless and furthermore he babbles at the end of every record like Ozzy Osborne.
I'm a huge Lil' Wayne fan and i respect the hell out of him, but I have absolulty no clue what this is about. Weezy fill me in bro.

Congrats to Chamillionaire for dropping another solid album last week, with his sophomore LP "The Ultimate Victory", which is a dope album, filled with a lot of great concepts and skits. I personally hate skits on an album because they are another skip for me in the cd deck, but a job well done Cham. Sadly, the #8 notch on the billboard chart and the 79,000 units sold on paper was a shock, especially with his strong crossover appeal, but i guess with a record featuring the legendary Slick Rick catching a luke warm response on radio, its really not that shocking at all.
I really hate to see talented and gifted artists like Chamillionaire get thrown under the bus, or considered to be another tax write off for the industry, but the sales being generated today is just simply not what it used to be. Twista's new release did 41,000 this week and hit #10 on billboard -- horrible numbers for a bonafied platinum artist -- but great numbers considering the LP was rushed to stores with barely any radio or video play. To tell you the truth i myself didnt even know Twista's album dropped last week, and im usually on top of a lot of these release dates!
This music industry is in a fuct up position right now, but when you think about the root of the problem is it the artists or the labels at fault? I'll tell you my opinion on this next week! Stay tuned...
